Francisco Ruiz Sánchez (1929-1982), profesor e investigador argentino, se dedicó a estudiar el concepto de educación, la finalidad educativa, entre otros aspectos. En tal dirección, Fundamentos y fines de la educación, cuya primera edición se remonta a 1978, puede considerarse como la obra más representativa del pensamiento del autor. A partir del análisis de dicho trabajo, surge el inconveniente de su ubicación dentro de algunas de las ciencias.
