Sugars play a role in the protection of post-thaw sperm quality by providing an energy source, decrease intracellular ice crystal formation, and maintaining the osmotic pressure of extender. However, the impact of sugars supplementation is variable during the cryopreservation. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different sugar supplementation into tris-extender on the post-thawed quality of ram sperm. The ejaculates were divided into three aliquots. Each semen sample was then diluted with trisextender containing fructose, glucose or lactose, loaded into 0.25 ml straw and cryopreserved.
