The purpose of this article is to analyze school management in a democratic perspective based on legal systems and literature, with a qualitative methodological approach, focusing on bibliographical and documentary research. The observance of the national legislation was of great value for the construction of this investigation, because it presents us how the norms of the Brazilian education are traced in the course of the national history, mainly after the military dictatorship and a process of redemocratization of the country in which the democratic management is prescribed since the Federal Constitution, regulated in the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education (LDBEN) nº 9.394 / 96 and in the National Plan of Education (2014-20...
