The work focuses on the bearings that support the shafts of belt-driven transmissions. In this type of application, the geometric deviations of the shafts are the most frequent cause of bearing damage. Expressions have been deduced in order to calculate the acting loads on the bearings, and the relation that exists between these loads and the positions of wear-out marks produced by balls on the rolling tracks.
