International audienceThis paper addresses the conversion problem of High Dynamic Range (HDR) images into Low Dynamic Range (LDR) images. The aim of this conversion is to ensure a good visual rendering of the displayed Tone Mapped (TM) HDR images in accordance with the observers' assessment. To do so, the proposed algorithm adjusts a piecewise linear function to the logarithm luminance distribution of the HDR image to adapt this transformation to the perceptual quantizer in accordance with the Human Visual System (HVS). The computation of the slope value of the piecewise linear transformation is simplified.
