Intertwining theoretic approach with research on a case study of a Famous Historic Cultural Town of Fenghuang (Shaanxi), the book addresses innovatively the issue of reading, de-coding and re-coding Chinese historic villages and towns, proposing an organic and integrated approach to their reading, protection and enhancement.
