Characterization of the bird comunity associated to riparian vegetation in a landscape with high intervention in the municipality of Puerto Gaitán Meta - Colombian Orinoquía

El área de estudio se encuentra ubicada hacia el extremo oriental del departamento del Meta, en la Orinoquia colombiana rodeado de ecosistemas riparios con alto grado de intervención por actividad antrópica. Se caracterizó la avifauna presente al interior de los bosques de galería, vegetación secundaria, morichales, herbazales y sabanas naturales que lo rodean. La metodología empleada contempló recorridos de observación y capturas con redes de niebla para conocer el ensamble de aves por ambiente, encontrando un total de 154 especies agrupadas en 20 órdenes y 44 familias. La curva de acumulación de especies evidenció resultados significativos para el muestreo logrando agrupar más del 80% del total de la diversidad aviar a lo largo de la cuenca. El bosque de galería evidenció ser la cobertura más importante para las aves, considerando su amplia representatividad en área a lo largo de la cuenca. Dentro de los resultados se tiene a Mitu tomentosum, Thamnophilus nigrocinereus y Ramphastos tucanus como especies de interés ecológico, se confirma la presencia Myiophobus fasciatus en los bosques de galería del departamento del Meta, contribuyendo además con información valiosa de las aves que frecuentan ambientes riparios en esta región del país.The study area is located towards the eastern end of the department of Meta, in the Colombian Orinoquia surrounded by riparian ecosystems with a high degree of intervention by anthropic activity. It was characterized the avifauna present inside the gallery forests, secundary forest, morichales and grasslands and natural savannahs that surround it. The methodology employed contemplated observation routes and captured whit mist net to know the bird assemblage by environment finding a total of 155 species grouped into 20 orders and 44 families. The species accumulation curve showed significant results for sampling, achieving more than 80% of the total avian diversity grouped along the basin. The gallery forest proved to be the most important coverage for birds, considering its wide representativeness in area along the basin. Within the results is recorded Mitu tomentosum, Thamnophilus nigrocinereus y Ramphastos tucanus, as species of ecological interest, confirmed the presence of Myiophobus fasciatus in the gallery forests of the department of Meta, also contributing with valuable information of the birds that frequent riparian environments in this region of the country
