El acercamiento a la realidad institucional de personas mayores: Un espacio para la creación de programas gerontológicos

The life in the old people house must to allow to grew and improving the alternatives that the old people need to maintain their occupational performance. In adittion, it's a responsability of occupational therapist to design programs to permit exploring and indentifying interests, habits, routins, occupational history and abilities. On the other hand, the occupational therapist must to study the context and the culture of the old people life because this can give important information to organize the gerontological program in an old people house. It's necessary that the gerontological program has a component psychomotor, cognitive and psychosocial.La vida en los hogares gerontológicos debe permitir crecer y mejorar las alternativas que las personas mayores necesitan para mantener su desempeño ocupacional. Por esto es una responsabilidad del Terapeuta Ocupacional diseñar programas que permitan explorar e identificar intereses, hábitos, rutinas, historia ocupacional y habilidades. Por otro lado, el Terapeuta Ocupacional debe estudiar el contexto y la cultura de vida de las personas mayores ya que esto brinda información relevante para organizar el programa gerontológico destinado para tal efecto.Es necesario que el programa gerontológico contenga un componente psicomotor, cognitivo y psicosocial
