This paper provides a methodological description of the processes and concludes with the results obtained from the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations for harnessing ocean energy. There are countless applications for CFD in renewable resources and as complement of experimental case studies. We will focus on the simulations performed using the method known as oscillating water column (OWC), which converts the energy of waves into pneumatic power so that it can be then converted into mechanical energy through a reversible turbine.
