In this paper I present a base-generated analysis of Stylistic Fronting in Icelandic, assimilating the construction to a sub-type of V2. I argue that the base-generated approach provides an account of many of the properties of Stylistic Fronting that have been elusive under previous (transformational) accounts, and does so without the need for extra projections or extra mechanisms. The analysis is presented in the framework of Lexical-Functional Grammar, which allows flexibility of head-positioning without recourse to movement operations
