This is one of the first Y.M.C.A Member's cards. It was created on June 6, 1844, the year that the YMCA was founded by Sir George Williams. The middle of the card says "Young Men's Christian Association Instituted June 6, 1844" and "Member's Ticket." The middle of the card also lists the names John C. Symons and William Creese, who were the two original secretaries of the association. The middle section is separated from the rest of the card by line dividers, and there are quotes around each of the four sides of the middle of the card which appear to be taken directly from the bible.
