The purpose of this article is to provide a brief overview of counseling as a developing profession in Bhutan. Counseling is experiencing rapid growth in Bhutan and there is an increased demand for clinical and non-clinical services in diverse areas of mental, emotional and social needs in Bhutan. Currently, there is a dearth of literature on this topic in this area.
