This paper proposes optimization problems of a server system in which how many number of server resources should be provided for a server computing with random job times. The system operates for a server computing with n jobs, optimal server resource numbers when n is constant and random is obtained. When job times are exponential, optimal policies are discussed analytically and computed numerically. Finally, introducing excess and shortage costs, all results are rewritten similarly, and optimal policies are derived and analytically and numerically
