Shebit Indian School

A faded group photograph of students and their teachers from the Shebit Indian School located in the Santa Clara Canyon in southern Utah. The group poses in front of a light colored door of a stone wall (probably the school building) in a uniform three row structure. The back row is standing against the doorway and the stone wall, the middle row and front row are sitting. The men, both young and old, wear wide brimmed hats with light or dark colored shirts, pants and scarves. The women in the group are all in light or dark colored dresses. The woman on the far left front row wears a light colored apron over her dress. The background consists of the stone wall of the school building. At the far right is a window with a small sill or ledge visible. The foreground is the dirt road that runs alongside the building. The photograph is attached to a hard piece of white mat cardboard with gold tinted edges.This photograph is in poor condition. Written on back of the white matting, in black ink, is, "Shebits [sic] Indian School. Santa Clara Canyon." In pencil is written vertically "F-1." The mat is stained and shows signs of yellowing
