Nurse's Training Display

A photograph of a group of ten student nurses and their instructor in a Nasogastric feeding simulation with a manikin lying in a hospital bed. The nurses are gathered in a semi-circle around the bed while the instructor stands behind a light colored metal cabinet which acts as a holder for what looks to be a makeshift Nasogastric feeding device. The instructor is wearing a full light colored dress with a nurse's cap. Her hair is pulled on top of her head. She also wears a watch and her left wrist. Her hands are placed upon the makeshift Nasogastric device. The students are wearing pin stripped semi-dark dresses covered with aprons tied at the waist. They also wear nurse's caps with their hair pulled on top of their heads. The manikin appears to be made of a plastic or wax like substance with simulated dark colored hair. There is a feeding tube running up its nose and it is covered up to its neck with a light colored sheet. The room has bare walls and there is another bed on the lower left hand side in the foreground of the photograph.The photograph is in fair condition. It has two paper clip indentations on both the right and left sides near the bottom. The indents travel about an inch into the photograph. After careful investigation the glossy finish of the photograph reveals many indentations. Some are handwritten indentations and others are from various objects having been wedged against the photograph in storage. The indents compromise the structural integrity of the photograph especially at the points were the paper clip indents are located. Here the indents are so deep that the paper is very thin and the photograph will easily be damaged if mishandled. The only handwritten remarks are on the back. Written in pencil is the following: "Full Page [,] Nursing arts Lab at St[.] Mark[']s Hosp.[,] 52[?] 5[crossed out and circled] 4 ¾ ." Stamped in red is the following: "FROM=RAY KING[,] SALT LAKE, UTAH[,] DEC 13 1952." The quality of the photograph is good. There are no developmental mistakes or blemishes
