The purpose of this research project was to discover the elements of a successful leadership program in a K-12 school district, and how aspects of the program can be considered for other school districts to adopt. In addition, perceptions of leaders, what makes an effective program and socio-emotional needs of the participants were also addressed. Using a program within a diverse K-12 school district in an urban environment as the project setting, data was collected from program participants and administrative interviews in addition to analysis of third-party evaluations, which provided evidence of the impact of successful leadership development in the district.
