GRANT BUILDING Dean Rudger H. Walker is retiring August 31, 1968, after many years of service as an educator and administrator. Many of his friends and professional associates will undoubtedly wish to acknowledge his retirement. We intend to compile a book of letters from his friends and present it to him at an informal reception on May 25. We invite all those who wish--especially his close associates, former students, and those who know him well--to contribute a letter to this book. Expressions of appreciation, recognition of his many achievements, and reminescences of humorous and interesting events involving Dean Walker would all be appropriate. If you should have pertinent photographs, these may also be included. Letters should be typewritten if possible on an 8-1/2" x 11" white paper with at least a 1" left margin and a 1/2" right margin for bind­ing. If you have photographs, mount them on a separate page with any necessary comments or captions. The letters should be addressed to Dean Walker; however, since this is to be a surprise gift to him, we will appreciate it if the letters are sent to Dr. Don H. Larsen, Bacteriology Department, 110 Brimhall Building, Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah 84601. Please mail the letters in a large enough envelope so that they need not be folded. After all letters are received, they will be bound and presented to Dean Walker. We will appreciate receiving the letters no later than M a y 17. We have attempted to send this notice to all of Dean Walker's close acquaintances; however, some have undoubtedly been overlooked. Please feel free to bring this information to the attention of others and in­vite them to contribute a letter if they so desire.
