I apologize for taking so long to thank you, but I wanted to wait until the dust had died down and I had the chance to send you a personal note. As you may have noted from the news stories, we received substantially more financial support from local contributors than did the other candidates, and I con­tributed the least from personal funds of all the candidates. Too bad this couldn't have been counted instead of the votes! Your help was much appreciated, and Pat and I do thank you again.
