Letter dated 28 September 1941 from Leon Blood Linford at Belmont, Massachusetts, to sister Zilla and her husband, Lorenzo Richards at Riverside, California, regarding the finances of their mother, Mary Hooper Blood Linford39 Choate Road Belmont, Mass. Sept. 28, 1941 Dear Zilla and Ren: Certainly- Imogene and I wish to thank both of you for what you have done for Mother. Ren for putting up with the inconvenience of having Zilla away, and Zilla for the excellent Y/ork she did in Logan, caring for Mother and helping with the things at home. I have no?/ heard from all members of the family directly or indirectly to the effect that they approved the idea of omitting further contributions until the family estate was partly used. Hooper v/rote to the effect that he had sent in Aug and 3ej>t, but would not send in for October 1, unless he received word to the contrary. I have written him saying o.k. and am writing the rest suggesting that we do not send in for October 1. Further that we start payments again when the estate reaches about #2500.00 on essentially the same basis as arranged in Logan, adjusted to meet changed financial conditions of any member of the family. Mother wrote to say that she had a considerable fund in the checking account in Logan, so that this stop will not put her account in a tight position. Of course, if any one wishes to continue, I would say that is up to the individual• We are all well and happy, and we hope that you folks are too. Some time we will get a few pictures finished and send them so that you can see Lawrence as he is now. - Leofs death was a shock, and it is going to be nearly impossible to get anyone to replace him. Imogene and I are looking forward to a good visit from Mother. L0Ve i Ren: Dr. Gardner wrote saying that Reid Christensen no?/ at Snow College at Ephraim, Utah, was applying for the job at the A.C. The fellow that taught there a few years ago went to Ames, and if I remember the story, .got discouraged because he did not get enough attention and went on Bast. Was he Reid Christensen, if so I do not think him the proper caliber for the job at the A.C. If not, and if you know Reid Christensen would you write Dr. Gardner telling what you know about the man
