Polly Stewart Oral History Project: Jennifer Bott's Thesis, 2007

Senior thesis by Jennifer Bott, a History student at the Weber State University. Jennifer teamed up with folklore scholar Polly Stewart, conducted a series of interviews with musicians who participated the folk music revival movement in the 1960. Her thesis is the conclusion of Utah folk music revivalists' involvement in the national folk scene, musically and spiritually. Includes photographsThis paper seeks to contribute to the sparse scholarship on Utah's folk music revival period by demonstrating, through oral interviews with local revivalists, that this era touched all corners of the country - even Utah, and that these local experiences illustrate similar experiences as are understood on the national level.
