Desempeño de las lagunas anaerobia con bafle divisor y facultativa de la PTAR de Santa Fe do Sul (São Paulo, Brasil)

The main objective of this research was to evaluate the performance of the sewage treatment plant (stp) of Santa Fe do Sul in the different climatic seasons. A bathymetric survey of the anaerobic and facultative lagoons was carried out to determine the sludge accumulation profiles and estimate the hydraulic retention time of the units; Three-stage monitoring of the raw sewage and the ponds’ effluents for 3-months long each was carried out. The average removal of the biochemical oxygen demand (bod) was 78.6 %, lower than the minimum efficiency allowed by the current Brazilian legislation; the amount of fecal coliforms (fc) and the settleable solids volume exceeded the permitted values by the regulation. The stp needs maintenance on the anaerobic lagoon and a post-treatment system to guarantee additional bod, fc and solids removal on the final effluent.Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo principal evaluar la eficiencia de la planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales (PTAR) de Santa Fé do Sul en las diferentes épocas climáticas. Se realizó un estudio batimétrico de las lagunas de estabilización anaerobia y facultativa para trazar los perfiles de acumulación de lodos; se monitoreó durante 24 horas consecutivas el afluente crudo y se realizó el seguimiento de su desempeño en tres etapas de investigación, cada una con tres meses de duración. La remoción media de DBO fue del 78,6%, menor que la mínima exigida por la legislación brasilera, en el efluente la cantidad de coliformes fecales (CF) superó en gran medida los valores permitidos y el volumen de sólidos sedimentables excedió el 1,0 mL/L de la Norma. La PTAR requiere mantenimiento de la laguna anaerobia e implementar un pos tratamiento que garantice la reducción de DBO, CF y sólidos del efluente final
