Vernal 2nd Ward had a carnival fund raiser in 1916 to begin construction of the new chapel. Because of WWI the cost of the material and labor made the cost nearly twice the original figure. The timber was milled on the mountain near Vernal and the stone quarried from Steinaker Draw. By 1969 a new chapel had been built and the old chapel was converted into the Golden Age Cente
