Leo C. Thorne began his long career in photography when he began developing film. In 1907 he bought a studio. Not only did he photograph people, but traveled the valley photgraphing anythng and everything. He was the school photographer for many years. He was a charter member of the Lions Club and a civic leader of the community. He played an important role in Ashley Valley and surrounding communites by capturing local history through the lens of his camera. He was the son of George and Louisa Thorne. He married Pauline Stonecypher. He was born in 1883 and died July 29, 1969
