Jeremiah Hatch Murray was born July 11, 1844, in Lucerene, Monroe, Michigan. He came to the Uinta Basin with his two wives, Karen Maria Nielsen and Mary Ashby. His parents were John and Sarah Bates Murray. He died September 7, 1909 and is buried in the Maeser Cemetery
