Rae Ashton is a prominent citizen of Uintah County. He was born toe Leslie and Eva Allen Ashton on June 9, 1893. He served in World War I. He married Eva Stewart in 1919. He was associated with Ashton's and Ashton Brothers businesses in Vernal, Roosevelt, Duchesne and Heber. He was involved in many organizations in the community, the Lions Club, Knife and Fork Club, the American Legiona was the director of Hotel Vernal. He died April 4, 1951
