Add to ORKGThe Thimble Rock Gilsonite Mine was located near Rainbow. It was named for it's thimble appearing rock formation on the top of the hill. The vein runs between two rock walls and in some places it was so narrow that the miner could not turn his shoulders sideways in the mine
