Bennett reports that Captain Hamblin and Prof. John W. Powell came to the U.S. Navajo Agency in New Mexico to discuss depredations alleged to have been committed by Navajo Indians. The Navajos met in council with the two men and reached an agreement in which the Navajos agreed to prevent any future depredations.
