Letter to Superintendent Indian Affairs, Utah territory from Office of Indian Affairs, Washington D.C. issuing orders to proceed with census of Indians on reservations, to include, "the number of warriors, and the total number of people of both sexes and all ages, of each tribe or band embraced within your Superintendency... together with full information in regards to the condition of each separate tribe or band, as regards permanence of location, degree of civilization and industrial progress.
