It is a personal journey that brought me back to the potters wheel in search of forms that could best respond to the effects of the flame and ash. A desire to recreate the elements typical in extended multiple day fires led me to find methods of manipulating the surfaces of the clay with foreign materials. Creating such surfaces led me to choose platter forms, mostly unglazed, and a series of medium to large oval vessel forms, with a combination of glazed and unglazed surfaces.
