The challenging diagnosis of GCA classically relies on the presence of systemic symptoms in the setting of a biologic inflammatory syndrome, and an abnormal temporal artery biopsy (TAB). However, it is often very difficult to definitely confirm (or rule-out) GCA. Diagnostic algorithms have been suggested, but diagnostic strategies continue to vary. Our goal was to review the literature-based evidence on the diagnosis of GCA
