Ocular Motor Palsies in Herpes Zoster Ophthalmicus

Herpes zoster is a common disease caused by the reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus in the posterior root ganglion. Herpes zoster ophthalmicus (HZO) accounts for 1 0-15% of all cases of zoster infection. Ocular motor palsies in HZO have been reported to occur in 5-33% of affected patients.
