Knowledge of ocular involvement in leukemia is important for detecting either relapse or initial presentation of the entity, given that the eye is one of the only sites where the leukemic involvement of the nerve and blood vessels can be observed directly. Prior studies have shown that the incidence of ocular involvement in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is about ~5%.
