Does time equal vision in the acute treatment of NMOSD and other antibody-mediated optic neuritis?

In contrast to MS, in which visual recovery from optic neuritis (ON) is independent of treatment, ON in neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) and other forms of antibody-mediated demyelinating disease (AMDD) is steroid dependent. Disability from AMDM-ON accumulates by poor recovery from attacks. Acute ON attacks are treated with high-dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP).
