A blow snake in the act of eating a rodent on the Sevier Desert, Utah. The snake first crushed its victim (about the size of a gopher) and by a series of pulls elongated it; then deglutition began which took more than an hour to accomplish, after which the snake lay dormant, without effort at concealment for nearly a day.
