[eng] Today, English is a universal language on our planet, which is why it is so important that we learn it. Even so, the mother tongue influences this learning process. For this reason, this project studies and analyses the use of the English language through theoretical context, previous studies and a case study in order to detect possible linguistic transferences from the mother tongue and thus, reach a consistent conclusion about the extent to which the mother tongue influences the learning of another language. For this specific case, students from Mallorca who are learning English at High school have been chosen to be assessed on their use of adjectives in the English language.
