In this research, the effects of deep cryogenic treatment (DCT) on the wear resistance of Vanadis 4 steel will be investigated. For this purpose, a number of bearing steel samples were held for different times (0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 12, and 24h) at deep cryogenic temperatures (-145ºC). The wear experiments were carried out in a ball–disk arrangement, by applying loads of 10 N and 20 N and a sliding velocity of 0.3 m/s. As a result of the wear tests, the effect of deep cryogenic treatment on friction coefficient, surface roughness and wear rate will be studied. Worn surfaces of the samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and the results will be investigated with those obtained for deep cryogenic treatment samples.Bu araştırmada...
