Systematical electron microprobe analyses of natural chalcopyrite crystals have been performed in order to study the nonstoechiometry of this mineral as it is mentioned in the literature. A statistical study of crystals from three occurrences — Bodennec, Rouez, La Zarza — shows a similar composition heterogeneity both in neighbour crystals and in samples from different deposits. In other deposits, whose origin is different as confirmed by different values of sulfur isotopic composition, the average compositions are similar. It is suggested that the diffusion of atoms was responsable for the rehomogeneisation of crystals and the elimination of minor elements after the sulfide formation, in connection with metamorphic events.Les écarts de s...
