Water is essential to human survival. In 2002, the World Health Organization found that over 1.1 billion people or 17% of the world’s population lack access to improved water sources. As new technologies have allowed for the development of water filtration and sanitation systems in developing countries, it is imperative that we study the effectiveness of these systems and how they are impacting people. This research accounts for different variables that can effect the perception of risks associated with the consumption of untreated water.
