This dissertation explored the prevalence of and predictors of secondary sexual abstinence (following sexual initiation) in a sample of Texas college students. A qualitative phase of research (N=20) was conducted through face-to-face interviews, and data provided the foundation for development of a web-based survey administered to a sample of 1,133 undergraduates during the quantitative phase of the research. Data produced several key findings.
