Nutritional indices and growth of the silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) fed with leaves from three mulberry hybrids (Morus sp.) fertilized with organic matter or organic matter plus gypsum

A produção de massa verde pela amoreira (Morus alba L.), composição bromatológica da folha de amoreira, índices nutricionais do bicho-da-seda (Bombyx mori L.) e desempenho biológico do bicho-da-seda alimentados com folhas de amoreira dos híbridos IZ 64, IZ 19/13 e IZ 56/4 adubadas com matéria orgânica e matéria orgânica associada a gesso agrícola foram estudadas no Setor de Sericultura do Departamento de Zootecnia da Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias da Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), campus de Jaboticabal, São Paulo, Brasil. O experimento foi constituído de 2 ensaios, um no verão e outro no outono, em esquema fatorial com três híbridos: IZ 64; IZ 19/13 e IZ 56/4 e três tratamentos: T1 testemunha (sem adubação); T2 adubação com matéria orgânica (2 kg de esterco de galinha) e T3 adubação com matéria orgânica associada a gesso agrícola (2 kg de esterco de galinha + 250 g de gesso agrícola). O delineamento experimental obedeceu ao esquema de blocos casualizados (DBC). Os parâmetros analisados foram: produção média de folhas/planta de amoreira; produção média de ramos/planta de amoreira; teor médio de matéria seca nas folhas de amoreira; teor médio de proteína bruta das folhas de amoreira; teor médio de fibra bruta nas folhas; teor médio de extrato etéreo nas folhas; teor médio de matéria mineral nas folhas; ganho de peso médio no 1°, 2°,3°,4° e 5° instares do bicho-da-seda; duração média dos instares do bicho-da-seda; duração média dos repousos do bicho-da-seda; ganho de peso das glândulas de seda no 3°, 4° e 5° instares do bicho-da-seda; Peso médio dos casulos; teor médio de seda líquida; taxa de consumo relativo (TCR) no 3°, 4° e 5° ínstares do bicho-da-seda; taxa metabólica relativa (TMR) no 3°, 4° e 5° ínstares do bicho-da-seda; eficiência de conversão do alimento em biomassa (ECI) no 3°, 4° e 5° instares do bicho-da-seda; eficiência de conversão do alimento digerido em biomassa (ECD) no 3°, 4° e 5° instares do bicho-da-seda e digestibilidade aparente (DA) no 3°, 4° e 5° instares do bicho-da-seda. Pelos resultados obtidos nos parâmetros analisados, o híbrido IZ 56/4 apresentou uma tendência a ser superior aos híbridos IZ 64 e IZ 19/13, tanto em termos de produção e composição da amoreira como em relação ao desenvolvimento e produção de seda do bicho-da-seda. Em termos de tratamentos, a adubação com matéria orgânica associada a gesso agrícola (T3) apresentou uma tendência a ser superior a adubação com matéria orgânica (T2). A adubação com matéria orgânica mostrou tendência a ser superior a testemunha (T1).The green mass yield for the mulberry (Morus alba L.), bromatological composition of the mulberry leaves, nutritional indices of the silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) and growth of silkworm fed with leaves from mulberry hybrids IZ 64, IZ 19/13 and IZ 56/4 fertilized with organic matter or organic matter plus gypsum were studied in the Sector of Sericulture of the Department of Animal Science, Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias, Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP), campus of Jaboticabal, State of São Paulo, Brazil. The experiment consisted of 2 essays, one in the summer and another in the autumn of 1999. The statistical analysis factorial (3x3) in randomized complete blocks design. With three hybrid: IZ 64; IZ 19/13 and IZ 56/4 and three fertilization procedures: control (without fertilization); fertilization with organic matter (2 kg of chicken manure) and fertilization with organic matter plus gypsum (2 kg of chicken manure + 250 g of gypsum). The parameters analysed were: average plant production (kg of leaves/plant and kg of branches/plant); average dry of mulberry leaves: average crude protein of mulberry leaves; average crude fiber in the leaves; average ether extract in the leaves; averages mineral content in the leaves: average weight gain in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th instars of the silkworm; average duration of the instars of the silkworm; average duration of the rests of the silkworm; average weight of the cocoons; average net silk content in the cocoons. While in the 3rd, 4th and 5th instars the weight gain of the silk glands of silkworm; relative intake rate of silkworm; relative metabolic rate; relative growth rate; feed efficiency measured from ingested biomass and measured from digested biomass and apparent digestibility of the silkworm. The results were as follows: hybrid IZ 56/4 presented a tendency to be superior to hybrids IZ 64 and IZ 19/13, both in production and bromatological composition of the mulberry as well as in relation to the development and silk production of the silkworm; concerning fertilization procedures organic matter plus gypsum (T3) presented a tendency to be superior to the fertilization with organic matter (T2).
