Representaciones sociales sobre la violencia en el noviazgo de jóvenes universitarios

The following document describes the social representations of young university students from the city of Bucaramanga between the ages of 18 and 25. It worked under the qualitative paradigm; A semi-structured interview was created based on 3 deductive categories: dating, dating violence and self-esteem which allowed us to inquire about the perception that university students have regarding violence in dating. This investigation was made by 8 university students who signed informed consent, authorizing that their speech is recorded and then transcribed and codified through the Atlas program. Ti which “is a computer tool whose objective is to facilitate the qualitative analysis of, mainly, large volumes of textual data (Muñoz, 2003). Subsequently, this analysis of results was complimented by category, taking into account the discourse of the participants and authors. It was found that one of the main social representations is that violence can occur in courtship and manifests itself verbally, physically, psychologically and sexually, evidencing that women are victims in a greater percentage than men. This research is expected to support future research that aims to study this phenomenon and from these strategies are generated seeking to reduce the high rates of violence that start from young couples.El siguiente documento describe las representaciones sociales de jóvenes universitarios de la ciudad de Bucaramanga en edades comprendidas entre los 18 y 25 años. Se trabajó bajo el paradigma cualitativo; se creó una entrevista semiestructurada basada en 3 categorías deductivas: noviazgo, violencia de pareja y autoestima la cual permitió indagar sobre la percepción que tienen los estudiantes universitarios frente a la violencia en el noviazgo. De esta investigación hicieron parte 8 universitarios quienes firmaron un consentimiento informado, donde autorizaron que su discurso fuera grabado para luego ser transcrito y codificado a través del programa Atlas. Ti el cual “es una herramienta informática cuyo objetivo es facilitar el análisis cualitativo de, principalmente, grandes volúmenes de datos textuales (Muñoz, 2003). Posteriormente, se complementó este análisis de resultados por categoría, teniendo en cuenta el discurso de los participantes y autores. Se encontró que una de las principales representaciones sociales es que la violencia si puede darse en el noviazgo y se manifiesta de forma verbal, física, psicología y sexual, evidenciando que la mujer es víctima en mayor porcentaje respecto a los hombres. Se espera que esta investigación sea de apoyo a futuras investigaciones que tengan como objetivo el estudio de este fenómeno y a partir de estas se generen estrategias buscando la reducción de los altos índices de violencia que inician desde parejas jóvenes
