International audienceUNCLOS itself does not constitute a sufficient legal instrument to ensure coordinated management of the high seas. Therefore, different organizations are responsible for managing the activities taking place in this area. Topics such as the conservation and sustainable use of marine biodiversity in areas beyond national jurisdiction, as well as the sharing of benefits for marine genetic resources, are examples to which the new Law of the Sea must manage while ensuring cooperation between all stakeholders to put in place a transfer of marine technologies.
