International audienceIn this letter, we propose a new efficient method toestimate the direction-of-arrival (DOA) and range of near-fieldsources in a decoupled way. Firstly, a non-Hermitian cumulantmatrix is constructed, whose eigenvectors associated with zeroeigenvalues are used to directly estimate the DOA by usingthe MUSIC algorithm. Then the ranges are estimated with theestimated DOA by orthogonalizing the remained eigenvectors.Compared with other modified two-dimensional (2D) MUSIC,the proposed algorithm can greatly reduce the computationalcomplexity by avoiding a 2D search with only one matrix andone eigenvalue decomposition (EVD). Simulation results show theeffectiveness of the proposed method
