International audienceThe design of wide reflectarray antennas (RA) featuring complex unit cells through a scalable, efficient, and effective approach based on the System-by-Design (SbD) paradigm is investigated in this work. Towards this end, the customization of the SbD loop to the RA synthesis problem is described, and the integration of advanced micro-scale modeling techniques based on learning-by-example strategies with macro-scale task-oriented optimization strategies is discussed. A set of preliminary results is illustrated to validate the proposed approach
