Over the years many different constitutive models have been developed to describe the behavior and failure of concrete. In order to calibrate and validate any constitutive model, experimental data of sufficient quality covering different experimental setups are required. Depending on the application and availability of data, the expected prediction quality of the available models may vary significantly. Some of the available models to describe concrete include the Microplane models M4 and M7, the damage plasticity models e.g. available in ATENA or OOFEM such as the Grassl-Jirasek Model and discrete models such as the Lattice-Discrete-Particle-Model (LDPM).
