As academics, journalists, authors and other publishing industry figures decry the growing market dominance of digital publishing corporations, little attention has been devoted to the impact that the digital transformation of the publishing industry has had on literary pluralism. In this thesis, I will examine how independent writers use digital publishing platforms to publish their work and reach audiences, with a specific focus on Amazon and Patreon. The aim is to explore the new set of cultural practices in digital publishing and their impact on literary pluralism in today’s culture
