[EN] In 1953, a special situation arose, leading to the development of a mindset that marked the beginning of the construction of three new towns linked to the electricity production: Picote, Miranda and Bemposta. That situation was the crossing of three unyielding figures - João Archer, Nunes de Almeida and Rogério Ramos – with the Portuguese Government’s need to respond to an industrial agenda that required very particular and demanding spaces. This context was also parallel with the expansion and growing dominance of concrete as a construction system, which was very distant from the ones used in the local architecture.
