In this work the study of the nonlinear propagation regime in integrated optical waveguides is carried out, with special emphasis on waveguides with silicon nitride core. Recently an increasing interest in this material has been observed due to the limitations of silicon, the most used material in photonic devices, in relation to the intensity of the signals transported. Owing to this limitation, research has focused on the use of other materials and on the engineering of dispersion to reduce these limiting effects.
