In the south of the historical center of Alcudia (Majorca) in the direction of the Port, we can find the archeological site of Pollentia with an approximate extension between 16 and 18 hectares within wich are diferent excavated areas. Founded after the conquest of the island of Majorca, wich was carried out by the Consul Quinto Cecilio Metellus in 123 b.C, it was the capital of the Balearic Islands in times of the Republic and the Empire. Year 1923 marks the beginning of excavations in the Roman City of Pollentia. Three stages are known in wich most of the performances are recorded, by means of wich, the history of the City is constructed.
