[EN] Sieges were the most important events in the wars in the 16th, 17th and centuries. A siege was a difficult operation, more technical than a battle. The war of the Quadruple Alliance (1717-1720) reflected this kind of war, with the preeminence of the siege. The defense of Sicily was focused in some determined cities with a certain characteristic in common. This defense was perfectly studied by a duke of Savoy.
